Office of Human Resources Launches Hawai‘i Enculturation Program

Led by Kupuna-in-Residence Lynette Cruz, Ph.D., the Office of Human Resources launched on December 9 its inaugural Hawai‘i Enculturation program. New HPU employees and their spouses were invited to a morning session to learn more about our island paradise.  These new Hawai‘i residents – faculty, staff, and spouses – took a tour of ‘Iolani Palace and shared a ‘talk-story’ session about their experiences and journey in acclimating to life in Hawai‘i.  Aunty Lynette provided valuable knowledge about life, traditions, and local customs to help make their transition easier. 

The Hawai‘i Enculturation program will be held quarterly.  All new HPU employees and their spouses who are new to the Islands are invited to attend.  For more information, please contact Human Resources at hr@hpu.edu.
