Take Presidential Search survey 
Faculty, staff and students: If you were unable to attend the forums (Aug. 31 and Sept. 1), please complete the online survey as a way of participating in the search process. Presidential Search web page here.  

Fall term registration deadline
Sunday, Sept. 6,
is the last day to add a course for the fall 15-week term. Fall 2015 Academic Calendar here.
·         For help with course choices, contact the Academic Advising staff (note Fall 2015 Advisor Updates) or call 808-544-1198.
·         If a hold is preventing you from registering, contact the office that originated the hold (Business Office for an Account Balance [AB], Residence Life for a Housing [HS] hold etc.).
·         For additional registration questions, contact the Registrar’s Office at 808-544-0239, registrar@hpu.edu.
Undergraduate Advising updates
If you are majoring in programs within the College of Liberal Arts (formerly College of Humanities and Social Sciences), College of Business or College of Health and Society (formerly College of Nursing and Health Sciences), there may be changes to who your advisor will be for the fall 2015 semester. Student parking & shuttle schedule
Hawaii Loa (HL):
Students may purchase parking decals for vehicles and motorcycles or mopeds and a 10-day parking discount punch card at the Bookstore, and there are daily and visitor parking rates. HL residents may purchase a resident student decal. 
Aloha Tower:
Students may purchase motorcycle or moped parking decals for Irwin Park at the Bookstore. There is a secured area under the Aloha Tower Campus Eva Pavilion for about 20 mopeds; there is a parking fee for this area in addition to the cost of the parking decal.

Student Government elections
Do you want to help improve the HPU student experience? Are you making the most out of your college experience? Do you have ideas that will push HPU into the future? Your Student Government Association (SGA) is calling upon motivated individuals to be the voices for the HPU student community. More information, including SGA positions available and the special elections packet, here.
Federal Work Study (FWS) jobs
The Advising office has two FWS Customer Service Assistant positions available. Responsibilities include answering calls and providing responses to inquiries, assisting student-walk-ins and visitors to appropriate personnel, and scheduling of appointments. Call 808-544-1198 and ask for Karen to inquire about the positions. Other FWS opportunities available and posted on HPU Connect.      

Updated Campus Security numbers
If you have programmed security numbers in your phone, please be sure you have the current numbers for HPU’s current security, Star Protection Agency, here (contact list, right side of page).

Emergency text messaging
For emergency communication to students, faculty and staff, HPU utilizes the RAVE Alert text messaging service. Please ensure that you are registered, or update your mobile number here. Note: Registrants must opt out if they leave the HPU community and want to disable the messaging.     

Where to pick up your UPass  
Full-time undergraduate and graduate students are seeing a new fee on their student accounts beginning Fall 2015. The Transportation Fee (UPass) is a mandatory fee which entitles the student to unlimited use of the TheBus (Oahu’s public transportation system) at a cost of only $40 for the whole semester – a savings of more than 80% over the regular rate!
·         Students may pick up their UPass at the Registrar’s Office, UB 216 (1164 Bishop): Aug. 31-Sept. 4, 8 a.m.-6 p.m. (extended hours).

Petition to graduate (PTG) due
For graduating students:
All students who are completing their program requirements by the end of Fall/Winter 2015 must submit a PTG by Monday, Sept. 28. Students are required to submit a PTG whether or not they plan to participate in the commencement ceremony on Thursday, Dec. 17.  If a student submitted a PTG but did not receive a scanned copy of the PTG in their HPU email, they should contact the Registrar’s office at ptg@hpu.edu

Fully funded Japan study tour
Do you have an interest in visiting Japan and learning more about Japanese culture? In order to promote intercultural understanding between the U.S. and Japan, the Japan Foundation is sponsoring a nine-day trip to Japan, Nov. 24-Dec. 2, for a group of select HPU students to do just that! Application deadline: Sept. 30, 2015. Details here.

·         HPU’s 50th Birthday Cake Cutting: Join Student Government Association on Tuesday, Sept. 15, Hawaii Loa campus, 12:30 p.m.-2 p.m.; Campus Activities Board on Thursday, Sept. 17, Aloha Tower Marketplace, 11:30 a.m.-1 p.m.
·         Reminder: Faculty and staff are invited to attend the ‘Ohana Party on Friday, Sept. 18, 5 p.m. at Aloha Tower Marketplace for FREE; don’t forget to RSVP by Sept. 7.
