HPU ‘Ohana Participate in Fort Street Beautification Project

Forty-nine members of the HPU ‘ohana took part in the inaugural Malama O Ka ‘Aina Fort Street Beautification Project on Thursday, April 13. Wearing Malama HPU t-shirts, the team painted the trash bins and water fountains on Fort Street, starting from Beretania Street up to Hotel Street. The project was sponsored by University Relations and Human Resources in support by the Student Government Association, Staff Council, and senior leadership. The City and County of Honolulu provided the paint and a safety training, and WalMart donated the paint brushes, drop clothes, and bottled water.

By participating in this service project, the HPU ‘ohana is doing its part to give back to the community. The April 13 Malama O Ka Aina event is just one example of the altruistic endeavors by the HPU ohana, contributing to the creation of a better future for Hawai‘i.
