Humanities faculty and student collaborate

Professor Margo Kitts, Ph.D., is the editor of Journal of Religion and Violence 3.2 and 3.3, and Josef Gruber created the cover art for the journal. The line-drawing art by Gruber, who is a student in the BA Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages program, is titled Mahishasuramardini. Kitts is also the author of “Pain, Politics, and the Monstrous Other,” which will be published in the Journal of Religion and Violence 3.2 (2015), 289-298. Both journal issues forthcoming in 2015.

Over the summer, Kitts additionally authored:

·         “Discursive, Iconic and Somatic Perspectives on Ritual,” forthcoming 2016 in the Journal of Ritual Studies.   
·         With Michael Jerryson: “Introduction:  Religion and the Violence of Non-Violence” in Open Theology 1, 122-125 (summer 2015).
·         “Anthropology and the Iliad” in Ashgate Research Companion to Anthropology, 2015, 389-410. 

Kitts is the author of the book, “Cambridge Elements of Ritual and Violence,” to be published by Cambridge University Press.
